The topic of Matsumi Ladies Clinic Mita English blog in July is about summer.

In the first part, I create an article about popular events in Japan, the UK and the US in summer.

Summer kicks off in June in Japan.

July and August are the hottest and most humid times of the year.

The temperature differs from place to place, ranging from approximately 21 to 32°C.

Normally, June is the rainy season.

Once the season is over, we have many sunny days.

It turns into fantastic weather.

July and August are the time for summer festivals, firework displays, outdoor activities and family reunions.

We become more sociable.

One well-known festival is Tanabatata Festival, known as the Star Festival, which falls on the 7th July.

According to the legend, the lovers called Orihime and Hikoboshi, who live separately, can cross the Amano river to meet together on the night.

Orihime is the Vega star, and Hikoboshi is the Altair star.

Mainly, children write their wish on a paper strip and hang them on a bamboo tree ornamented with colorful decorations.

August has the biggest Buddist festival called Obon.

It is the time for a family reunion which is like Christmas in western countries.

We get together and visit the ancestors’ graves to celebrate their spirits coming back home.

During the festival period, beautiful firework displays entertain us, which is an essential summer event.

In the UK, the Wimbledon is held in this season.

Can you imagine how many people are inspired by the famous Wimbledon?

At this time of year, every tennis court is full of people with tennis rackets.

The Grand Slam is also associated with “strawberries and cream,” a well-known British dessert.

In the US, July 4th is Independence Day.

Many people wear red, blue and white clothes to celebrate Independence Day.

These three are the colors of the American flag.

People enjoy barbecue parties with families and friends, and parades are also held.

Have a happy summer!
