The topic of Matsumi Ladies Clinic Mita English blog in August is about summer.
In the second part, I create an article about greatness of this season.
Summer is the fantastic time for plants and flowers to flourish and blossom.
A variety of insects start to search for food and pollinate flowers.
Animals become active in hunting to restore food supplies and for reproduction.
Primarily, this season is the peak time for birds to breed.
They look for a safe place and start to nestle to begin the new generation.
How about us?
Many people love summer as it brings endless enjoyment, such as outdoor activities, travelling, swimming, sunbathing or gardening.
We become more active and energetic to take up new things.
Early morning is particularly fantastic.
The crisp and cool air makes us feel refreshed.
A unique summer pastime is chasing fireflies and finding cicadas.
It is a traditional summer activity that most Japanese experience in their childhood.
The song of cicada is not so beautiful but is rather loud.
But it gives us a summer feeling.
The cicadas come from the ground as nymphs every summer, shed their exoskeletons, sprout wings, and spend just a few weeks and die, a very short life.
The northern part of Japan has milder summer than southern regions.
Even in the north, the heat sometimes prevents people from going out.
A hat and an umbrella become essential items.
However, even with the perfect preparation, some people suffer from extreme heat.
Next topic of this blog is all about heat and health.
