The topic of Matsumi Ladies Clinic Mita English blog in September is about autumn.

In the first part, I create an article about the arrival of autumn.

As summer draws to a close, many things are starting to change in nature.

Temperature falls and gets cooler.

Days become shorter and nights more prolonged, and leaves begin to change color.

It is the arrival of autumn.

Autumn brings significant beauty and pleasure to us.

In Japan, people are keen to walk around woodlands and mountains to admire the autumn leaves as trees display magnificent colors.

October and November are the peak time.

Gradually, plants stop bearing fruits to grow seeds.

It gives us fun outdoor activities:

picking fallen acorns, chestnuts, and ginkgo nuts from the grounds,

making decorations or toys with the autumn leaves,

creating a collection book of the seeds,

or baking potatoes in gardens.

Autumn is also well-known for the harvest.

Fruits, vegetables and fungi are so delicious.

Have you heard of Matsutake mushrooms?

It is a Japanese delicacy and the most expensive fungi.

It costs 30,000 yen(about 270 US dollars) per 300g.

Wild animals wear thicker fur.

Domestic cats and dogs also become more extensive as their coats are growing.

Bears start hibernation to save their energy.

In autumn, flocks of birds are seen in the sky.

They begin to migrate to warmer countries.

In the UK, many swallows go to South Africa, taking six weeks.

Not only nature’s change, autumn also brings exciting events.

Halloween, for example.

Many fantastic festivals are held all over the world.

In the US, children dress up and visit their home.

You can find many Jack O Lanterns made from pumpkins.

It typically celebrates the blessings of nature.

Does your country have any autumn festivals?

The next blog is about Japanese traditional festivals.
