The topic of Matsumi Ladies Clinic Mita English blog in May is about a mother.

In the final part, I create an article focusing on various definitions of mother and some hormones concerning of its relationship with a child.

A mother is defined as a woman who has some relationship with her child, who may or may not be her biological offspring.

Mothers are divided into three types: those who give birth, raise a child, and supply an egg for fertilization.

A female genetic contributor to the birth of a child is called as a biological mother.

A biological mother includes a woman, who donate eggs to another woman.

A surrogate mother is a woman who bears a child that came from another woman’s fertilized egg on behalf of a couple who cannot give birth.

An adoption mother is a woman who becomes the parent of a child through the legal process of adoption.

A stepmother is a female who is the wife of a child’s father and they may form a family unit.

A mother is a female parent of a child.

She grows from many experiences after the delivery of her child.

Female mice can learn to respond to distress calls from young mice with the hormone, named oxytocin.

Oxytocin is a neuropeptide molecule produced in the hypothalamus, as a part of the brain.

This hormone can improve an ability of neuronal network in the left auditory cortex of the brain.

It acts as an effecter on prosocial behaviors such as pair bonding and parental care.

Another hormone prolactin is also known as an activator of maternal behaviors in the maternal brain.

Prolactin action in the part of near the hypothalamus is necessary for postpartum maternal nursing behaviors.
