The topic of Matsumi Ladies Clinic Mita English blog in October is about autumn.

In the final part, I create an article about changes of our medical conditions during this season.

 

Why dose appetite increase in autumn?

We don’t crave much food during the summer, while it’s hard to resist food in autumn.

There are some reasons, but the leading cause is the maintenance system of the body temperature.

In cold weather, your body needs to burn more calories to keep you warm and healthy.

The lower temperature in autumn compared with that in summer makes you to prepare for the coming season.

That is partially why our appetite goes up.

 

Think about animals and plants in nature.

Summer is the season for reproduction, and autumn is for raising their children.

So, autumn brings an abundance of the harvest to strengthen health for preparing in winter.

It also applies to us.

Many people tend to gain weight in autumn.

The best way which brings healthy body is to follow nature’s instructions and eat seasonal food.

 

How about your mood in autumn?

Our metabolism tends to slow down during cold months, and the cool weather sometimes makes us feel down.

To keep your mental well-being, you should keep enough sleeping hours and do some exercise.

Why not pop out the outside and spending some time in nature?

Stay just two hours in nature is reported to increase life satisfaction, enhance attention and reduce stress.
